Mr. Joseph Munda Sandi, Senior Petroleum Tax Manager

Joseph Munda Sandi is an experienced Development Finance Specialist with specific thematic expertise in project finance, revenue mobilization and financial planning. Having worked for both the private and public sector in UK, he comes with wealth of geographic experience gained across Africa and Asia developing and implementing multi million dollars projects. Working for a range of international development organizations including DFID, THET, Y Care International and WaterAid, Joseph has developed a strong record of accomplishment in project design, finance model, implementation and management across Africa with foreign exchange risk and taxation management being core to his operation.

Before his appointment, Joseph was the Regional Management Accountant for West and Southern Africa at WaterAid an international development organization that specialized in Water and sanitation project. Working from the Global Headquarters in London he was task with the responsibility of providing project financial leadership and resourcing to a portfolio of countries including Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Liberia, Niger, Burkina Faso and Senegal in West Africa. Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland and South Africa in the South.

He   comes   with   strong   financial and project management   experience having established working relationship with institutions such as DFID, World Bank, AfDB, European Commission, USAID, DFAT, GAC and JICA.  At DFID with Tropical Health and Education Trust, he was responsible for the financial administration of a £30m global health partnership program across Africa and Asia.

In Mozambique, he helped develop a multi-million dollar finance package to fund Rural and Urban water program reaching out to millions of Mozambicans with clean safe drinking water. He was very instrumental in mobilizing   resources from European Commission for the successful implementation of an urban water and sanitation project in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

A former Banker at Barclays Bank London, Joseph comes with a very strong negotiation and Business development skills winning several individual and team performance awards for business generation and innovation.

Joseph, a keen sportsman is an ex British Soldier with a sound leadership and discipline background, qualities he   acquired serving on operational tours including Iraq and Afghanistan with the Blues and Royals Squadron of the Household Cavalry.

He holds an Honors degree in Accounting and Finance from London South Bank University and an MSc in Accounting and Financial Management (Major in Tax and Foreign Exchange) from University of London respectively.
